About the Artist

John Lazzaro is a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Long Island, NY. In his approach to photography, Lazzaro draws upon his experiences from documentary filmmaking in order to create a realistic, visual, and thought-provoking dialogue of the macabre. His main focus is capturing abandoned buildings and vanishing architecture throughout New England.

Lazzaro is a member of The Firefly Gallery in Northport, NY and Fotofoto Gallery in Huntington, NY and has displayed work at the Salmagundi Art Club, Alex Ferrone Gallery, Praxis Gallery, Long Island Photo Gallery, and the Old Town Arts & Crafts Guild as well as Untapped New York and The New York Post.

The Comsewogue Public Library Gallery is located on the main floor outside of the Community Room. In the 690 square foot gallery there is approximately 75 feet of hanging wall space. There is also one lockable display case available measuring 44″ wide x 20″ deep x 8 1/2″ high.
