Children’s & Teen Programming

Don’t miss out on our awesome programs for all ages and interests – crafts, storytimes, cooking, fun activities, yoga, and much more! We also offer Take & Make programs to enjoy after picking up supplies at the library desk or curbside.

Virtual programs take place on a variety of platforms including Facebook, YouTube, and Zoom. (In-house programming is coming soon, so check back often for updates.)

For Students & Adults with a NYS Learner Permit.  Patrons will learn safe driving skills and receive a certificate at the end of the class enabling them to sign-up for a road test. Bring NYS Learner Permit AND $40 cash to the class.

Register starting June 1 at 9:30am online, over the phone or in-person – Gift for Teacher (Click Here to Register): Librarian Mrs. Cortes will show you how to create an easy DIY Apple Pot to give to your teacher to thank them for all the hard work they do! The kit includes supplies and instructions!

May 24 (7:00pm) – INDOOR Plants and Bugs Workshop (Click Here to Register beginning May 13):
Decorate a small planter, plant seeds in soil, and create little bugs out of Sculpey clay with artist Chris Vivas. Masks must be worn by everyone and social distancing will be adhered to. Please Note: Students, grades K-5. Students attend without caregiver.

June 7 (10:30-11:15AM) – INDOOR Socially Distanced Dance Party (Click Here to Register beginning May 18):
Come wear your favorite mask along with your dancing shoes and come to the library for some movement dance party fun. Take home your very own crown to decorate. Masks must be worn by everyone older than two years.  Social distancing is required.  Please Note: Children, 3 years-PreK with ONE caregiver per child, siblings not permitted.

Join Librarian Mrs. Rizzo for a fun and lively book discussion and activity! eBook titles are available for FREE download via Hoopla: https://www.cplib.org/ebooks/. Upon registration make sure to pick-up an activity kit before attending the Zoom Book Discussion on 6/8 at 6pm. Please Note: Grades 4-5. Students attend without caregiver.

June 16 (10:30am) INDOOR Infant Massage (Click Here to Register beginning June 1): Join Lisa Marie Curley, certified infant massage therapist, for a unique blend of soothing touch and gentle play. Please bring a blanket and any natural lotion or oil. Masks must be worn by everyone older than two years.  Social distancing is required. Please Note: Children, birth-12 months with ONE caregiver per child, siblings not permitted.

June 21 (6:30pm) – OUTDOOR Pet Parade (Click Here to Register beginning June 1):
Bring your pet to our 21st Annual Pet Parade. We welcome unusual pets as well as cats and dogs! There will be ribbons, pet gifts, and a center ring for pet tricks. Pets must be on a leash or in a container, and may be walked, carried, or in a wagon or carriage. You are responsible for cleaning up after your pet. Masks must be worn by everyone older than two years.  Social distancing is required.  Please Note: Families with Pets.

June 22 (10:30am) INDOOR Bouncin’ Babies (Click Here to Register beginning June 1): Join Librarian Mrs. Logan and enjoy this morning of songs, fingerplays, music, bells, and bubbles. Masks must be worn by everyone older than two years.  Social distancing is required. Please Note: Children, birth-24 months with ONE caregiver per child, siblings not permitted.

June 28 (7pm) – OUTDOOR Storytime Under the Stars (Click Here to Register beginning June 15): Have fun listening to stories outside under the stars. Do some silly dancing between stories. Please bring a blanket or chairs to sit on. Masks must be worn by everyone older than two years.  Social distancing is required. Please Note: Children of all ages with caregiver.

June 30 (6:00pm) INDOOR Independence Day Craft (Click Here to Register beginning June 15): Show your patriotism with this wooden American Flag craft! Fun, easy and a great decoration for 4th of July! Dress for a mess! Masks must be worn.  Social distancing is required. Please Note: Grades 4-5. Students attend without caregiver.
